The course fosters intellectual and clinical development of dentists allowing them to extend and deepen their analytical and practical skills which underpin their daily practice.

You will learn with the most advanced dentistry education providers, and we ensure you receive a rounded and robust education and through delivering in-depth seminars, interactive problem-based scenarios, and simulated clinical training to reach a high level of proficiency.

The course aims to graduate confident senior practitioners able to do effective evidence-based practice within complex multidisciplinary teams. It also aims to equip practitioners with appropriate skills to treat challenging general dental cases.

This course is delivered entirely online; you will be able to attend synchronous and recorded seminars on our advanced virtual learning platform. The practical sessions are also recorded, and the relevant materials are sent to you for you to complete the practicals in your practice.

180 UK credits, 90 ECTS credits, 36 US credits

You will attend two intensive week-long residential schools in each stage of this course in our College in central Birmingham. Teaching will include seminars, practical interactive workshops and training on phantom heads and simulated models. Our phantom head models are inventively created to represent real case scenarios that you may encounter in a referral centre.

Full Time
Master’s of Science (MSc) in Advanced General Dental Practice
Length of course: 1 year
180 UK credits, 90 ECTS credits, 36 US credits

This programme is taught at the MSc level and is a one-year full time. This programme not only delivers the knowledge and skills required for the ORE and LDS examinations, but also graduates the students with a Level 7 University degree. The students are also mentored to gain registration as Dental Therapists to practice within the scope of a dental therapist of a dental hygienist whilst training for ORE or LDS examination.

Requirements

Distance Learning and Blended Learning Applicants

  • Undergraduate Degree in Dentistry, and
  • Current GDC registration (for UK applicants only) or equivalent for international students, and
  • Applicants will need to demonstrate evidence of professional indemnity cover, and
  • Health clearance to be able to perform clinical practice, and
  • Current evidence of satisfactory DBS check

Full Time Applicants

  • Undergraduate Degree in Dentistry, and
  • Letter of good standing or equivalent from an appropriate regulatory dental body, and
  • Applicants will need to demonstrate evidence of professional indemnity cover

English Language Requirements

Our courses require a minimum English level of IELTS 6.0 or equivalent, with no band score under 5.5. If you do not meet the English language requirement we will give you a conditional offer subject to you meeting the requirement before the commencement of the course.
